Photographing newborns has been one of the biggest joys of my career, and my life in general for nearly a decade. Photographing newborn babies is just about the best way to work I can possibly imagine. Not only are they super adorable, and super snuggly, newborns are perfect photography subjects, if photographed at the right time.

Read MoreJack is now 18 months old and is very much a typical toddler. It's been so much fun watching him grow and develop, but as he begins to develop he also begins to have his own opinions (not looking forward to this part!). We realize that he's not going to let us dress him up for much longer, so now is the time to dress and photograph him in what I want. Even though we're family and kids portrait photographers, it's not always easy to get our own son in front of the camera. At least not in our studio.
