Hermann Park Mother's Day Session | Houston Family Portrait Photographer
Hermann Park is iconic for Houston, it has beautiful tree-lined walking paths and lush greenery. There are so many perfect spots for portraits you could be forgiven for thinking the park was designed with portrait photography in mind. This has always been one of our favorite places to visit, and now to photograph.
When I first met Anh she told me she wanted to give her mother something special for mother's day this year. She also said that her photographer was the most important investment she made for her wedding and understood the value family portraits would be to her mother.
Because Anh had an idea of the artwork she wanted prior to the shoot we were able to design a shot list that fit specifically to her needs, which allowed us the freedom to get more creative and explore other ideas after capturing those images. It really took the stress off Ahn knowing she was going to get exactly what she wanted, which allowed her relax and enjoy herself.
We also knew that Ahn's brother and sister-in-law were expecting soon, so getting a few maternity photos was important.
For their Mother's Day gift Ahn wanted a large piece of the entire family accompanied by individual portraits of the couples. We were able to show Anh what the grouping could look like put together before she ever had to purchase a single thing. She ended up choosing metal, which are becoming increasingly popular thanks in part to their modern look.
We love the design session, it's the part of the process that everyone is actively involved (even the men). And with all the guesswork is taken out of the equation we are able to focus on specific needs and design elements with confidence.
We are so glad Anh and Matt chose us for their special Mother's Day gift. We're sure these portraits will be cherished by her mother for years to come.
